Alba is an award-winning Spanish illustrator and art teacher from Barcelona, based in Auckland since 2020. In 2023 she won the Margaret Mahy’s Illustration Prize, giving her the opportunity to illustrate her first book 17 Kings and 42 Elephants by Margaret Mahy. Now she’s working on a few more children’s books with Hachette Aotearoa New Zealand, including Dragonfall: The Fate of Dragons, book one of Sarina Clark's fantasy trilogy that will be published this August 2025. Besides illustrating books, she’s been teaching drawing and painting to kids and adults for the past 5 years.
